I think we all are aware of the need to keep backups of our projects & files but do we always remember to do it. We all regularly hear of instances of problems caused by not doing this.
Why not automate your backup, what I have done is use Robotask at http://www.robotask.com to set up my key files / folders to automatically back up to my dropbox account. Register for dropbox (2gb free storage) at (http://www.dropbox.com), more space can be paid for later. Dropbox will also keep a history of previous file versions (30 I believe) from which earlier versions can be retrieved.
Robotask can be set up to check every 60 seconds and if a file is changed then its backed up. There is an element of investigation of the documentation involved with Robotask and also the choice whether to use the 'Free' (Lite) version or pay your money for the full version (the Lite is good enough for most needs). See the comparison between both versions http://www.robotask.com/lite_vs_full/.
Also keep your eye on www.givawayoftheday.com as Robotask does appear occasionally in the daily givaway.

Mailinator :- In our internet world, you often need an email address NOW. Signing up for an email service takes time. That's probably ok for most emailing, but every now and then you need a quick email address for just a single email. After that you don't care what happens to it. Given that such an email address is ready in an instant, you can avoid giving out your real email address when you are afraid of getting spammed. Instead, make up any address @mailinator.com on the spot and go check it later.
